The team of ARExA | Spacesmith | Davis Brody Bond has been selected for the shortlist of 12 candidates to submit a design for The Women’s Building. The competition calls for the transformation of a Bayview Correctional Facility, a former women’s prison on Manhattan’s west side, into a hub of global activism advancing the rights of women and girls. Other shortlisted firms include, among others, Deborah Berke, Work AC, WXY, Marble Fairbanks and FX Fowle.
Competition entries are due April 20. Winners are expected to be announced early summer.
