Darrick Borowski will join instructors from the Architectural Association and Modelab to lead the Architectural Association’s Embedded Intelligence Visiting School.  He’ll also be giving a talk on “Biomimetic Strategies for Architectural Practice.”

The two-week hands-on workshop brings together a diverse international group of students, academics, architects, engineers, artists, designers and researchers to explore material systems, computation, natural systems and advanced fabrication techniques.

Fellow instructors and speakers include:
Evan Greenberg (Studio Master, AA EmTech)
Ronnie Parsons and Gil Akos (Mode Lab)
Brian Ringley (Designalyze, Woods Bagot)
Chuck Hoberman (Hoberman Associates)
Sean Ahlquist (Assistant Professor, U of Mich, Taubman College of Architecture)

This 10-day intensive program will combine research in the areas of natural systems and composite materials with methods of advanced manufacturing. Participants will have the opportunity to work with a team of industry thought leaders and expert consultants to explore the possibility for biological models to influence and enhance architectural systems.
